So tired - nightmares every night

Hi,
Wonder if I am the only one or is this also happening other people. I am 19 weeks on dc2 and I am so tired as every night I have very disturbing dreams involving being chased, pinned down, death etc. This wasn't happening before being pregnant and didn't happen on DD1 (even tho was so so worried on DD1 as had many many miscarriages and didn't relax until she arrived). I can't say I'm overly anxious about this pregnancy, am worried but taking each day as it comes. Any insight into this would be great because I'd love a nice relaxing nights sleep .....

My dreams are so strange and vivid. I woke up terrified from my dream last night but can't remember what it was about. Even my non-scary dreams are so real and yet bizarre lol! X

Sorry your sleep is being disturbed like this - I had terrible nightmares in early pregnancy, and also (in my dreams) slept with virtually every single male work colleague

They did go away but am very near my due date now and am getting vivid dreams again (luckily not so horrible this time). I am wondering if they are hormone-related? Sorry - this info isn't much help to you but wanted to reassure you that you aren't the only one!

Your not the only one! I am constantly exhausted & am having very very weird dreams, not always scary but just sometimes very odd. Last night for example, I was converting my house into a new terminal for Birmingham airport with Beyonce, Jay-Z & Kanye West, I met a male dancer who was dressed as a woman & I had a snake enclosure with a bright yellow & green snake, who was at first friendly then turned poisonous. I woke up this morning thinking what the f@&/!! I hope you have a more relaxing nights sleep tonight!

I dreamt that I gave birth to a purple armadillo pup instead of a baby.

The night before I dreamt my husband left to marry a male, Greek, talking, ginger cat.

I'm knackered too.

Seriously though, I believe you're dreaming more because you're not sleeping well. Not, you're not sleeping well because you're dreaming. You're dreaming because you're not slipping into deep, rejuvinating sleep. Neither am I.

I had the most vivid dream the other night. I was wondering along the high street in my leopard skin onesie, it was dark and deserted. I had a screw driver in my hand and I broke the lock on the fish&chip shop with it and entered the establishment. I could hear someone saying a muffled prayer from behind the counter and when I peeped over to investigate i was met with a very odd sight. Nick The Greek who runs the chippy was head down a pray matt, praying and in front of him was a candle and a picture of Willow my old tabby cat which was my family pet when I was a child (Willow came to an unfortunate end when he jumped in front of the 10:30 to Liverpool Street).

Nick noticed me stood behind the counter, he then went mad and started scooping up the chips and throwing them in my direction. He threw that many at me that I was completely buried in a mountain of chips, with only my head peaking out of the top of the chip summit. He then made his way over towards me and started feeding me a saveloy very seductively. It was at this stage I woke up.

Thanks so much for all your replies, at least we can get a laugh even if we are exhausted. Sounds like its something to be tolerated rather than sorted .......
