Hi, im 10weeks pregnant with my 2nd.
This is going to sound ridiculous and my partner doesnt think its serious.
I popped into bed and rolled over. I sneezed and then had what can only be described as the sharpest, most painful stomach pain ive ever had in my life. It was on my left and right side where i would imagine my ovaries to be. It was so sore all i could do was scream but it only lasted about 30seconds and i havent had a pain since and that was about 10mins ago.
Will the baby be okay? I normally wouldnt be worried but the pain was worse than any contraction i had with my 1st.

I wouldn't worry. I get the same thing when I cough or sneeze...it's something to do with ligaments stretching or hormones.

I've had exactly the same with both my pregnancies... It's very sharp and painful and I was told was caused by the pressure of the growing baby squashing everything...

Okay thanks, im a little more reassured if its just hormones etc.. Hope it doesnt happen again though! Awful feeling :(

Oh I get that I just assumed it was normal I've had a bad cold so I've been doing a lot of sneezing, it's really painful! (I'm about 14 weeks)

Yup, used to get it a lot.

Your ligaments and joints loosen up when pregnant to allow everything to expand. So when you usually sneeze it's all pretty rigid but atm, it's loose so it pulls and snaps about and really bloody hurts.

Yep,I get this when I sneeze, its the ligaments stretching-really painful isn't it! I've learned to hunch over & hold my stomach when I sneeze-elegant it's not!

I am 15 weeks and if I feel a cough or sneeze coming on I try to bend over a bit or bring my knees up to my chest to prevent the inevitable abdominal pain I now get every time. I also get it if I have been sitting or lying and get up too fast, Oh, the joys! Grin

I had the same thing when coughing or sneezing in the first trimester.

I'm getting something similar when I sneeze and midwife has assured me its perfectly normal. I have started trying to 'reduce' the force of the sneeze if I can or control it if I can so that the effect is less. But its easy to forget - get an unexpected sneeze and bang - can feel the pains! Even worse its caused a little dribble of wee a couple of times as well. Pregnancy is so glamourous!
