How do you guys do it?

Hey, I'm almost 35 weeks and I really wanna know how you guys who have done this before have got through the last few weeks with your sanity intact?

I'm in a really bad mood, I've been relegated to the bedroom so DH can watch 22 men run around a field, my bump is heavy, I have stitch like pain on lower right side of bump, I can't decide what I want to do - watch tv, read etc, I can't sleep at nights DH is up til all hours coughing at the min and then when he does drop off I have the numerous trips to the loo to look forward to so still don't sleep. Time appears t have slowed down now that I'm in single figures of weeks left.

Don't get me wrong - I'm soooooo grateful to be pregnant and cannot wait for little one to arrive but after a really easy time of it I'm now struggling with these last weeks. (Anyone who's had an awful time of it right the way through can feel free to mock as I know I was very lucky early on) ;-)

Any advice gratefully received, TIA

Kx

Hey Kafri I'm at the exact same point as you 34+3 & totally had enough too! Bumps suddenly get really heavy dont they?! I sleep in ear plugs as dh snores, try that. Looking forward to hearing how others got through the final stretch (no pun intended!)

Not too sure how I spent the last few wks of pg with our dd, it's a bit of a haze, think I just watched telly, read, slept and ate! I'm now 31wks pg with our 2nd and thinking how on earth I managed it. This pg has been a lot worse in terms of pains/aches and am much bigger than I was the first time. All I can say is be very kind to yourself and try to relax/get as much rest as you can. I'm going to spend the last few wks getting all of ds clothes washed/ironed and my hospital bag etc x

It's rubbish. I found fresh air helpful in being more tired and sleeping better (window slightly open- I was due in Dec so it was similar time of year). Slept any time and anywhere I could, propped up on cushions etc, did random stuff in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. Had the odd small glass of wine to help relax (my mw pretty much suggested it!)

I crossed days of the calendar, helped keep me going. Magazines better than books, I still find reading books hard, way too much concentration required and DC1 is almost 2!- I used to read a book every week. Are you on ML? Try to get out and do things, meet up with people... try to have something to look forward to every week?

Hope your little one appears on time.

Thanks for the support guys, much appreciated. We found out really early that we were expecting duty to IVF and i really thought th 40 weeks would take forever. Well, these last few seem to be taking longer than the last 30!

Just holding on to the excitement of meeting my little one!!

The last few weeks are most definitely the shittest but not long to go now. Wish you well in the last stretch of your pg xx

I've no idea!

I have a 5yo ds and my dd is 4 next week, I'm 34+4wks now and feel blah, everything is just so much effort, my dp is great and cooks cleans and even does the school run so long as we work together to get ready and them out the door, but I'm still shattered and fed up, although I love being pregnant and as excited as I am to meet this baby ill be sad the pregnancy is over.

I didn't keep my sanity. I honestly went loopy.

At about that stage, I decided to paint the hall and landing, as well as the bathroom. My inlaws came to help out because they were so worried I was going bonkers. At 9 months pregnant, that took quite a long time, because I kept having to pause for breath/ go to the toilet.

(and now that I have a toddler, the hall and landing are covered in sticky hand marks)

Wait until you are 40 weeks and the baby still hasn't come out.

Sorry, I will hide all pregnancy threads now.

My DD is almost 4 weeks old and I found pregnancy quite difficult even though I was lucky and had almost no problems. I can't remember how I coped but I remember constantly thinking oh god I can't do this ever again and now I'm having lots of newborn cuddles my rosé tinted glasses are firmly on and I think it wasn't that bad Grin lol

Hope time flys for you

Hi kafri, I worked up until 2 wks b4 my dd's were due and luckily had dd1 at term+1 and dd2 on due date. The last 2 wks drove me nuts tho. try to plan atleast 1 thing to do each day - I washed baby clothes, met a friend, cleared out cupboards, scrubbed the kitchen floor which is what started labour with Dd1 I think keeps you going 1 day at a time knowing tht it won't b too much longer until baby arrives. Good luck! Xx
