How long after giving birth did people carry on wearing maternity clothes? I'm nearly 8 months and managed on a capsule wardrobe but really want some jeans. I'll get some wear out of them after, right?

How much weight have you gained? I put on just over 4 stone when pregnant Blush think I wore maternity clothes for about a month before accepting it was going to be a long time until I was back in my pre pregnancy jeans so I bought some flattering jeans in my new size (had gone from a 10 to a 14) as its pretty disheartening to still wear maternity jeans once your bump deflates :)

I'd get under bump jeans, found them really comfy afterwards when my belly was a bit swollen still. Maternity tops are great for bf too! Try new look, h&m or asos for relatively cheap maternity clothes. think I got a nice pair of jeans from topshop off ebay tht really look like normal jeans! Oh and next too. Good luck! X

I bought after having them recommended on here some jeans from New Look. The have three diff lengths, they are overbumo and they really do stay put. The best bit? They were £16 so happy to bin them after at that price!!

I wore mat trousers for prob 8 weeks or do Yates both dc then some smart track suits frm Next as I'm not a leggings girl and linen trousers for that interim until I felt happy back on my old jeans.

You will get wear out of them for 2-4 months postnatally if you're anything like me. If you get decent ones they will sell on ebay for a good amount.

I've got some Seraphine underbump jeans that I have been wearing since 7 weeks and which still fit now at 20 weeks - they way things are going I'm pretty sure I'll use them all the way as there's still a LOT of give in them. They stay up brilliantly and so if you can get some of those which fit you, it might be a better plan that overbump because even if you've gained weight they may not stay up without the bump!

Also, both Seraphine and M&P do some great adjustable trousers. They are underbump but the waist band has elasticated material in it which you can adjust using buttons on the inside (sorry, probably explainng it poorly) which should allow you to adjust up and down. Not sure if you can get this sort of thing in jeans, but some black trousers or some combats might be nearly as versatile dependnig on your style?
