Pregnancy

Is it?

I apologise now if this is long. I think what I need is confirmation from those in the know of what I am already pretty certain is the case.
I was 7 wks pregnant yesterday. Last Saturday evening is had some mild, brown bleeding. I managed to stay calm about this. After suffering 2 massive bleeds in my previous pregnancy and now being Mummy to 6 yr old identical twin boys, I know these things can happen.
Come Monday afternoon, the bleeding although still light is now red. I visited my Dr who referred me for a scan at the EPU on Tuesday.
To our huge relief on the screen blinking back at us was the tiny heartbeat of our baby. This also put paid to worries I have had about being completely sympton free this time round.
Anyway, the bleeding has progressively got heavier throughout the week and last night I was in quite a lot of pain. Period type pain in my lower tummy and back.
I do recall waking on the night a couple of times with the pain and this morning I have woken soaked in blood. So much more than either time in my previous pregnancy. I have also passed a couple of large clots whilst on the toilet.
So my question to which I really already know the answer is, is this a miscarriage? Has my poppet gone?
I apologise to anyone who this upsets or stirs up memories and also for the TMI at this time of the morning!!

Please go to the hospital. If they do not have a dedicated early pregnancy unit open at this time, then go to A&E. It doesn't sound good, but may not necessarily mean a miscarriage. I hope that it isn't the worst.

There is a small possibility you may have miscarried a twin that was already 'gone' so to speak at the scan. I'm thinking of you today x

Thank you both for your quick responses.
Tryingtocope, luckily I still had the number for the EPU so rang them on your advice. They have said it sounds likely, to get in touch of the pain or bleeding are unbearable or I feel like I may have an infection, but other than that do a test in 2 weeks. If positive I need to get in touch but it will more than likely not be the case.
Guess its just a waiting game for me now.
TodaysAGoodDay, that is not something I had considered. We were relieved to see there was only one this time (love my boys to bits but not sure I could do it again) but I suppose there is an outside chance you could be right.
Thank you again for your support.

I had bleeding and clots earlier this week so went to a and e, on referral to the gynae ward a dr explained that sometimes a clot forms in the womb in addition to the pregnancy. He said that sometimes this comes away but the pregnancy continues. He then did an internal and said that as the neck of my womb was closed it looked positive.
I hope you're ok, my thoughts are with you.
