No signs of labour at all
(7 Posts)Hello, I'm 39 + 2 and feeling nothing. Seriously- nothing. I've never felt anything resembling Braxton Hicks, no runs, no show... nothing at all. Just heavily pregnant and still reasonably active- walking lots, swimming and generally feeling fine. Everyone else seems to have days or weeks of contractions or at least gets the shits. A week ago, baby way 3/5 engaged and bump still feels really high up although she is head down and in the perfect position. Do some people spontaneously go into labour without all the warning signs? Am currently feeling like my body just isn't going to bother. Lazy uterus. Lazy baby.
Today is my due date and I've had absolutely nothing either. I've had Braxton hicks for the past few months but that's it. This is DC2 and with DC1 I didn't even get those.
waves to Londonmrs
Don't worry petal - I'm 40+4 today and aside from last week of the runs and BH's, now when I'm really wondering if I'll go into bastard labour, NOTHING!
Have come to the conclusion that nothing means anything until baby decides it's time
I never had any BH or felt like I might go into labour with my first either, just felt fatter and fatter and more fed up.
I had a sweep at 41 weeks and that kicked things off, I had a show that evening, my waters broke 24 hours after the sweep, and contractions shortly after that. Before that there'd been nothing!
With dc1 I went into labour at 39+2, had no signs or the shits lmao. Actually felt like it was still weeks away.
I never had (or was aware of) any BH, no signs of labour with either child until waters broke, contractions started, 0-10cm in 7 hours and both pg ended in emcs for different reasons. It isn't always a gradual ramping up with feet up watching a dvd.
DC1, no signs until the day! Not a BH, a twinge, nothing! I then spent 12 hours in serious denial!
This time I'm 38 weeks and have had BH's, since 17 weeks, and lots of twinges and tightenings in between!
Relax - it could happen at any moment. Honestly!
