Brown spotting and low hog levels?? Early sign of miscarriage?

Nobody really seems sure how far along I am.. My lmp was just over 6 weeks ago so am I right in saying I could be as early as three or four weeks? Took positive pregnancy tests (about three) and I've had little bits of cramping here and there. Started spotting very tiny bits of brown discharge (sorry tmi) a couple of days ago but only tiny bits when I wiped. It lasted all of about an evening and its come on last night and today too. Starting to worry me even though its just a bit. Had my hcg checked last Monday and Wednesday and they said they were 416 on the Monday and 700 on Wednesday. They seem quite low for me and I'm really anxious. The mood swings aren't helping. Can anybody share any input or advice?

I'm not a dr and I don't really know what I'm talking about but brown blood is old blood and I would think likely from implantation bleeding. Also the cramps could be implantation to x

Hi Megsie, you sound really worried, poor you!

The way PG are dated is from your last MP, so according to the NHS if your last MP was 6 weeks ago, you are 6 weeks pregnant.

Cramping and brown spotting can be normal in early PG, the cramping is from things stretching in there, and the brown blood could be an old implantation bleed coming out.

I'm wondering if you have suffered previous MC? (It is a bit unusual otherwise to get HCG levels checked?) and this is making this a very frightening time for you?

The HCG levels are rising, they look for them to double every 48-72 hours, so they seem to be doing that but as for them seeming low for 6 weeks, what did the clinic say about that ? Do you have to go back for a follow up? Or for a scan?
