Don't know what else to call this thread! I'm 40+3 today and was driving myself mad sitting at him this morning so I decided to get a head start on the Xmas shop.

I've walked the whole length of the shopping centre but the problem is I don't think I can make it back (car is at starting point) my pelvis is killing me, my knees and toes are clicking and my fingers are all swollen.

I'm having a cake pit stop, any tips on how to make it back. Feel like such a twat!

Oh you poor thing, that sounds dreadful! Could you get to an information point and ask for assistance - they're bound to have a wheelchair/buggy for just such eventualities. Or ask at the cafe you're in if they could phone for you. People are usually very helpful to v pg ladies.
Good luck!

Oh sweetie, I so remember being you! And I am sometimes already at 27wks with dc3.

Anyone you can call? Or are there benches throughout the centre, if so I'd go bench to bench rest and walk rest and walk, then have a snack back at the car. X

It's no biggie :)

Oh wow not fun. Is there a friend or anyone you could call? Failing that ask in the cake place for them to contact the customer services/help desk. I'm sure they will have a wheelchair and be able to help you. Don't try to walk back yourself If you feel that awful, don't risk a fall. In general people are very helpful.

On the plus side, if you're anything like me you'll wake up in labour tomorrow. Something about utterly exhausting myself seemed to set me off each time!

Take a nice long cake break and that should give you the energy to get part of the way. Buy cake supplies before you leave the coffee shop and have another sit down or two on benches along the way. Go nice and slow, as someone for assistance with your bags if you have too much to carry.

Oh hun, the cake might perk you up a bit. You could ask for assistance. I was determined once at Cribbs Causeway and fainted on the way back to the car, they provided me a taxi home, which was over an hour away. DH had to take MiL the next day [he works nearby] to collect my car. Security were lovely, but wish I'd asked for help now.

I'm sorry, I feel really mean but this made me giggle! It's just such a 'pregnant' thing to do! I remember being absolutely determined to continue with life as normal for as long as possible & managed it really well until my waters broke while I was out! Blush

Hope you manage to get home soon! Would it be possible for you to get someone to pick you up or to take a taxi? Might not be overly sensible to drive at the moment!

Try to take it easy until the baby arrives! I know how frustrating it is to feel like you're just sitting at home waiting but you do need to take care of yourself. Maybe find things to do in/near your house or visit friends so you'll have support just incase!

Weirdly, I'm at Cribbs Causeway kellestar.

DP has just finished work so I've invited him for cake and totally left out the "I'm too pregnant to get back to the car, please save me!" part.

Pregnancy is so undignified :( thanks for the sympathy ladies, part of menus worried that hm I stand up my waters are going to go all over the floor of the v busy cake place Grin
