Unexpected C-Section due to position / Oblique lie at 38 weeks

Hi all

Had my 38 week midwife appt last week and was measuring 39 which I expected and also found baby is in an odd position.

She has been head down but oblique all along but on the previous Thursday I had a really painfulside and baby has felt all 'up' as in hard along the top of my bump for a while. I have no pressure down below an if anything need to pee less now.

MW found the HB quite high up and very much on one side so said she may have even flipped breech.

Has anyone else had this?

I have a scan booked for Monday and MW said they will likely offer to try and turn baby or a section. I won't agree to an ECV so am hoping they offer to c-section me rather wait.

I have had a couple of very small (clear) shows over the last week and I have also just found out im GBS positive (neither of which the hospital knows yet)...would you advise the labour ward before monday?

This might not be relevant, but when I was around 36 weeks MW thought I was breech and provisionally booked my CS in case the baby didn't turn. She also said that if I had any signs of labour at all then not to wait but to phone the labour ward straight away and tell them that the baby is suspected breech. Turned out that when I had a scan a week later DS was head down though did end up having another scan at 38 weeks when she thought he was breech again.
Basically I was advised to err on the side of caution in case I started labour early, which would mean an EMCS if baby was still breech. HTH.
