"You're looking plump"

...said by a woman at work, she is lucky I didn't push her off her chair!
I put her right, that I am 21 weeks so have got a bump and the word she was looking for was "pregnant".
She back tracked and said she thought I was only about 16 weeks, as if that would make me feel better.

Or you could have said, "thank you, so are you." Grin

If she doesn't think it's rude to say it to you, then it must be ok to say it to her!

lovely the type of comments one gets when pg, aren't they? one needs to just ignore them all.
when I was 4 mths pg, my MIL (upon seeing me in a bikini on summer holiday) asked me, "Are you sure you're not expecting twins?" I am very slim btw (and was even when pg - just had a bump) - while MIL is quite overweight.

My MIL, who is as thin as a rake and totally obsessed by her weight, told me that i shouldn't put on anymore than 8kg (because she didn't).

I am expecting twins so i said well the midwife has told me that i'll most likely put on more with twins. And she said "you won't if you just eat healithily like i did! ie the only reason i'd put on weight is if i was troughing constantly (i mean, i have been eating more but you know the whole eating for three thing....lol)

So now everytime i see her, i feel like she is scruntinising the size of my arse, thighs, bump etc. (As it happens i am surpisingly quite small for the mo given the twins thing, but waiting for the explosion in a couple of weeks and for her to rejoice in my weight gain!) yay.

I was told the other day that 'you don't look pregnant, just American!] Grin (Luckily said by friend - we both live in America, married to Americans, dual-citizen children, so it's not like I hate the country....)

Normally, people tell me I look small - like I'm starving my child? [sceptical]

I have only put on a bump, still in most of my normal size 10/12 clothes. People just don't think.

At least you are pregnant! 1yr on people still comment on my bump and ask when baby's due. I'm back in size ten but little bump size of 3m still won't go. How rude!
