I am 27 weeks pregnant and all my feelings are either on my right or left far side of my stomach. Am I meant to be feeling kicks in the ribs and stuff by now? I have to be honest, I'm a bit worried it will stay like this.

When did your baby turn, and I'm worrying about nothing aren't I Blush

Did it hurt when your baby turned. That's worrying me as well.

I had some radiateing pains in my lower back and pelvis, though labour was starting, but it wasn't too painful, it was more the shock of watching it, it was a nice relief afterwards though because i could breath.

at 27 weeks there's still plenty of room for your baby to move around. indeed, your baby may be changing positions several times a day without you realising.

In a few weeks' time, you'll start to be able to feel on the outside how your baby is lying, and eventually, you may even be able to see the baby's back pressing out of your belly - it's lovely!

I'm also 27 weeks and get kicks/punches/swooshes in lots of different places.

So yes, in the nicest way, you are worrying about nothing Smile

Don't worry my baby was breech until about 34 weeks, your baby still has loads of space (although it may not feel like it!) and is making the most of being able to move around

And it didn't hurt when he turned, I had Braxton hicks for a few days and a bit of a period pai. Feeling low down and at my midwife appointment that week he had moved

37+4 here and still in breech. I don't think she'll turn now because my bump is not massive (afaikt) but healthcare professionals as well as reflexologist and accupuncturist say they have plenty of success of assisting or encouraging babies to turn right up to the end so don't worry about it for a good few weeks yet!

No harm in looking at something like spinningbabies.com and spending evenings sitting in good positions to encourage the baby to turn.

And FWIW I can only feel the head as it is very round and solid, the bottom I can't really tell but it's a bit 'wider' and I still can't tell the difference between punches, kicks and knees so those feelings could be anything ;-/

Good luck!

Don't worry yet! My first baby was breech until 34 weeks, didn't even notice him turn. Second baby was footling breech, and there was no shifting her - tried acupuncture, moxi sticks, funny positions, everything. Eventually born by ELCS. theres still plenty of time, so don't worry and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Good luck!

Thank you for replying everyone. Well, I had a very pressured sensation earlier and I think baby has assumed another new position again Blush

I am such a worrier, so thank you.

Mine was lying sideways for weeks, I was scared that it was never going to turn.
I tried various positions to try and turn it, but no luck. In the end I got into the bath on all fours, and let my belly hang into the warm water for about 15 minutes. It was a bit tricky, and I did need assistance to get out! But it worked. I did that at about 33 weeks, I'm now 37 weeks and baby is still head down!

When my mum was having one of my younger brothers, she had a scan on the day he was born. He was breech AND facing outwards. Amazingly by the time she actually went into labour he'd turned himself into the correct position.

Hi

my DD turned at 37 weeks, the day before I was due to go in and see if they could turn her. I had loads of movement that day, went in for the scan the following morning before they were going to turn her and found that she had done it herself!

Mine was breech from about the same time and he turned when he was told to in hospital at 37 weeks. That was fun.
