Experiences of giving birth at Lewisham - HELP PLS

Anyone able to give me an honest account of their birth at Lewisham. A friend of ours had her baby last week and said the whole experience was horrendous. I am trying to establish if this was an exceptional and very unfortunate situation or, a prime example of how bad things have got due to all their staff shortages/quality of staff etc....

I have heard only good things about the birth centre but its the Labour Ward that troubles me.

Sorry to say but i've only ever heard bad things about the labour ward. Can you not have baby in the birthing centre?

In theory I could but if the baby is overdue or there are "complications" they wont let you use it. I'm just really worried if I dont get the birth centre, its going to be a horrific experience. As you say, I have also found most people have bad experiences and it the exceptions that are good. Very worrying....
