I am 37+3 weeks and this morning on the way to work I felt dizzy as I was driving to work. Then again only worse now I have come into the office.

Anyone else had this weird feeling and what would you reccomend?

Hi im 35+1 and had this a few weeks ago whilst i was out with my partner.

Some lovely ladies on here advised me to always have a drink on me and something sugary (great excuse for chocolate) :) ... i thought i was going to pass out not a nice feeling but everytime i get dizzy i sit down and have a drink.

its only happened once since the first time and was no where near as bad.

Hope this helps and you are feeling better

Could you be anaemic, or might there be issues with your blood pressure?

To be honest, if it's no better having eaten I would speak to your midwife and don't drive until the feeling has passed. It could be nothing, but better to be safe.

I felt off for the rest of the day but i agree with chocolateyclur if you dont feel better in a bit contact the midwife and go and get your blood pressure checked.

Ohh and stay away from the car :)

my dizzyness was caused by anemia. iron tablets prescribed and i felt much better.

Hi OP,
I had a dizzy spell the other day (I'm 37+1) and mentioned it to my obs today. He thought it was either low BP, which I generally have, or that the uterus was pressing on an artery causing restricted blood flow to the brain (or the low BP). As it was not a regular occurrence he wasn't unduly concerned. But if you start getting them regularly I'd get in touch with your MW.

I think it's probably one of the joys of the 3rd trimester Hmm. I lay down for 15mins with my feet up on pillows and felt fine for the rest of the day.

Hope you're feeling better :)

Thanks all - feeling better today - you are right probably one of those things!

I had quite a bit of dizziness a few weeks ago, and my doctor suggested either snacking more often (which I was convinced wasn't the problem) and/or making sure to drink more fluids. I've been making a conscious effort to drink more water ever since and the dizziness has cleared up - could be worth a try if it comes back? She was going to run some tests if the dizziness didn't stop, though, so worth keeping an eye on.
