Thyroid question

I'm not sure of my levels at the minute but I'm 8 weeks pregnant and taking 75mg a day. for an underactive thyroid.

Over the last week or so I have the sensation of a lump in my throat when I swallow and I feel there's a little pressure there. I feel as if it's getting worse.

My GP wasn't that concerned when I told her I was pregnant (although she did up the dose from 50 to 75mg). I have an appointment at the beginning of October to check my blood - as I have this weird sensation should I ask for this to be moved forward?

thanks

I also have an underactive thyroid. I think upping by 25mg is pretty standard initially and then you should be closely monitored.

Not sure if you had your bloods done when you told the GP you were pregnant? I had mine done then and was told to go back in 4 weeks to monitor them.

Also at my booking in appointment my mw referred me to the consultant. This happened during my last pregnancy too. It's my understanding that women with u/a thyroid should be seen by a consultant as soon as possible in pregnancy.

TBH I would be booking to have my blood tested asap (either by mw or GP) as it's in the early stages that the baby relies on you for the thyroid function.

Hope that helps!
