Sore throat/cold symptoms before getting a BFP?

I'm 11/12 dpo and have a nasty sore throat and low grade fever and just feel rotten and run down. Has anyone else had this happen around this time and gone on to get a BFP? I have been through 6 cycles so far and this is new. No one around me has a bug I could have caught, and Dr Google seems to think it's fairly "normal" in very early pg as the immune system is weaker. I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be interesting to hear if anyone else had this?

Thanks Roz, that's both encouraging and terrifying lol... I also feel on the verge of tears today, am going to put that one down to lack of sleep and feeling like death!

Yep! I got raging flu for about 4/5 days over easter, got my BFP a few days later. When I finally announced (end of may) SIL said "I thought you might be, as you got terrible flu and that's what I had just as I got pg".

Weird, never thought there was a link til now

It seems to be pretty common, I have spent the last few nights googling. Can't sleep at night and when I do I have nightmares. But I could snuggle into my bed right now and pass out for hours.

It may just be a cold, but has equal chance of being start of pg. Get your butt down to the shop for a test, and keep us up to date! Good luck Smile

I thought I had a bout of Hay fever and nearly took antihistamines, I decided not to in case I was pg and I was!

I'd like to add diarrhea, a headache from hell and pink cm(just once, late last night) to the list. I'm taking my first sick day in years as I baby actually open my eyes without wanting to cry, let alone chase a 2yr old around. I feel pathetic. I did poas this morning (I think its actually 11 dpo as I'm pretty sure I o'ed on the 28/29th) and its bfn. Too early if the pink cm last night was ib? I never spot before af, its always right into a tidal wave of doom. Ugh. I would get excited if my head didn't hurt so much. I need taking to the vets and putting down.

Had a bitch of a cold at about 8wks-10wks, then again last wk (all of 20wks). Last week's led to an upset stomach, so as I work with food, I had to have sick days.
Manuka honey helped me with the sore throat part....
GOod luck with the test...

pondering if WrinklyRaisin has took another test (tip, go for the cheap own brand non digital ones, seem much more sensitive) I used one day before AF was due and got a beaming line.

Got a BFP yesterday morning but woke up at 4am with AF in full flow... :(

This is the third chemical (??? if that's what it is ???) pg in 7 months, time to call it quits for a while. I should have waited to test, then if AF started I would never have known. Ugh.

My GP counted my chemical, although I was a few days late as a lost pg so I think it could be worth seeing yours?
Sorry this has happened, it is such a rotten thing, :( take care of yourself and 3 pgs in 6 months is really good, a lot of people get just one in a year so do take heart.

Ahh, wrinkly i'm so sorry to hear AF arrived, and even more sorry that I encouraged you to take the test.

Sad

I have my fingers crossed for a BFP for you soon (un-mumsnetty x to you)

Wrinkly: sorry to hear of your chemical pregnancy. But DO take yourself to the gp- as you do seem to be above than average fertile. The gp may get you referred for further tests with a gynae, to help establish why it's not sticking. From what I've read here, there are lots of treatment options for reasons why early pregnancy fails including immune system defects. But thankfully they are easily treatable. Its the not falling pregnant bit( the bracket we fall into) which is much harder to diagnose and treat.Good luck. Here's wishing for a sticky BFP for you soon. x
