MW appointments for second timer

Not that I'm complaining but...

I had mw at 16 weeks and, according to the guideline sheet in my notes, my next mw appointment is 28 weeks. Is that everyone else's experience?

I don't mind, I'm quite happy not to have to schlep up there as often :)

yeah, i think you should have a minimum of 4. but it's usually more than that as they'll see you every week/fortnight still in the last few weeks...

but yes, that's the same as my experience. i then did 32, 36 and 38 i think?

Fair enough! 12 weeks seems like a long gap but I guess the anomaly scan was in the middle. Goodo. I shall make the most of it until they speed up in the last stages!

i missed the 16 week one because i saw the consultant the same day but did have one at 20 weeks even though I'd just had my scan. I then saw my GP at 25 weeks (was on the schedule in my notes), though found out after that was only meant to be for first-timers, and my next midwife appointment is 28 weeks.
it does seem you have a long gap.

For a 2nd pregnancy, provided you're low risk, "they" have decided you only need seven appointments with the MW. I'm 39w and my appointments were:

10w booking in and bloods
16w check
28w check and bloods
32w check
36w check
38w check
40w check and sweep offered (my appointment next week!)

I also had the usual 12w and 20w scans.

It's not too bad a schedule for second pregnancy (or third, fourth, etc) but I do think that 16w to 28w is a long time and they should have an appointment around about 22/24w for reassurance.

Mine is supposed to be consultant led, strangely not for my high BMI but because of previous PND. Haven't heard a peep from any consultant. Was also supposed to be booked into a weight management clinic for an appt at 16 weeks. Not a peep from them either! Told mw at my 16 week appt that I hadn't heard anything from them and she was very surprised and said she'd chase them. Still nothing!

Beginning to wonder if the GTT or the anaesthetist appts I have booked for later on will ever materialise :o The mws and scan people seem to know I exist though. Very odd.

x-post.

That's the funny thing. Due to BMI, PND and suspected GD last time (I disputed it) I should be as high risk as they come. They know all this and stil nada.
