Hi guys

So many 'am i in labour/how do i know im going into labour' threads at the mo. can see why! im not. im pretty much 100% sure of that. however, cramps started at night 2 weeks ago gradually becoming more frequent and intense. this weekend i have had quite painful menstrual like cramps and still not in labour. am due to be induced tuesday. dont get me wrong, im not really after re-assurance that im going to beat the clock, im pretty much resigned to that, but just wondering if anyone else has had a similarly long and frustrating few weeks of cramps and whether at any point it became actual labour?!

Thanks...

Yes, me - twice.

Periody style cramps from 36 weeks with both pregnancies. DC1 born at 41+1 after 2 sweeps. Had a show a few hours after the second sweep and contractions started the following evening. I think the start of the contractions was technically what is known as pre-labour. Anyway, regardless, it was 18 hours before they were established enough to go into birthing centre and another 12 before DC was born.

DC2 born at 40 weeks after a similar crampy few weeks. As with DC1, a show became pre-labour (about 24 hours - almost painless this time) and DC2 born after 2 hours active labour, almost in the hospital car park.

So, you never know! But good luck. It is very frustrating, I know.

Yes both times niggled for a week on and off where i thought this is it then nothing and then for 2 days constant discomfort until my waters went then things hotted up about 6 hours after that. My advice is your in labour properly when your having to breathe through your contractions and can't really focus on anything else. I called the MW to early last time and they sent me hospital with failure to progress dh was born normally about 4 hours later and i would have preferred to stay home. Its exhausting, Mentally and physically. I feel for you.

Hi y'all,

These are from plug coming out, till baby was out. 32 hours from start to finish for daughter while nullipar. They said I was 42 weeks, but nope I was bang on at 39 weeks.

12 hours from start to finish for son while multipar. They said 41 weeks, nope 39 again.
