Is this false labour?

I'm 4 days overdue and am feeling fine during the daytime. I'm up and out and about with just the odd Braxton Hicks and a few jabs from a rather larger leg/foot!

But come evening and it's a whole different story! From around 6pm I get the odd stabbing pain but by 8pm I'm in agony! I get a really hard bump, then baby's legs get going as if swimming downwards, then I get a mild pushing feeling as if baby is trying to get out. This has been happening for the last 4 nights and we've been timing them - about 10 minutes apart for two hours, but then I go to bed and all settles down and I'm fine again in the morning.

Real contractions don't stop when you move but it does sound like things are gearing up

Agree with rubyslippers, sounds like your body is getting ready but once you have a real contraction you will know. It really annoyed me when people told me that, and I was really curious as to how it would feel. I know some people hardly feel anything (I wish!). But you really will know when it gets going.
Good luck!

I've been exactly the same for about 5 days now, keep going to bed to make sure I'm well rested in case things do kick off, then it all calms down again Angry

Woke up feeling really fed up an tearful today, just want the baby out!

Feel bad too, cos I'm only 38+1 but had Ds1 early and have been told by various different people that the baby will be early, but having to tell myself I could potentially have another 3-4 weeks

Hope you start for real soon
