have been thinking today and i know she may be left till 37 weeks to try gain more weight. My Doppler scans have been fine but the baby is still breech so i just wondered if this will change anything or if any one has had any experience of this? I have had way too much time today to think about things Sad and am starting to panic a bit x i go to the hospital Thursday and what to attempt to be prepared for anything x

Hi Valiant1,

Sorry your messages haven't got a response yet. I'm not sure what I can say to help except that my baby was breech too for a couple of months, until being turned by ECV at 38 weeks, so if you need to know anything about how that works I can let you know more. Having said that, at 35 weeks there is still time for your baby to turn by him/her self, even if it is of average size.

Have you been told how small your baby is? They do check this when considering you for ECV. Mine was estimated to be around 6.5lb at 37 weeks, which posed no problem for them when turning the baby.

With regards to breech babies being more uncomfortable - I certainly felt a lot better once mine was head down. Whilst breech the baby was constantly head butting my ribs and my right hand side in an attempt to turn. I also had very bad heartburn and couldn't breath very well, and had to pause in the middle of eating a meal so I had room for the second half. I don't remember much pain down below, but that will depend on where the baby's feet and hands are I guess.

Good luck with your hospital appointment tomorrow and let us know how it goes.
