Need advice on bleeding at 5 weeks, please help!

I am online the early stages must be 4-5 weeks and have had raging morning sickness since last weekend. I've just noticed some spotting, is this the beginning of the end or can this happen. I am away at the moment otherwise I would go to docs.

Any advice gratefully received! This feels so different than with DD, had no sickness and no bleeding.

Thanks ladies

That would be only not online!

Spotting is pretty common if you google it. There is a chance it could turn into a MC but many women do experience spotting or more and go on to have healthy pregnancies.

Honestly? It's gone both ways for me, so you can never really tell unless the bleeding becomes heavy (and even then that doesn't always mean mc) or a scan (and that doesn't always mean anything either). Keep an eye on it and see the GP Monday for a referral to EPU.

Thanks ladies, I wonder if the epu will be open on a bank hol? Thanks ladies, we shall see.

at 4 - 5 weeks they are unlikely to see or tell anything anyway.

I had a tiny amount of spotting at 5+3 (same day as my 1st midwife appt)

She was not bothered at all and said probably implantation, and so long as it didnt turn red or painful, not to worry.
Im 37+5 now Smile

Good Luck & at this stage remember there is not much anyone can do anyway

All very odd, no bleeding yesterday and then it just started again, it is a little more than spotting but I just suspect since morning sickness seems to have gone too that it probably is over. I guess I will head to the doctors on tuesday... I am shattered!

Hope all is okay for you monkey

I have had spotting since Tuesday on and off, with last bit on Friday that I had a bit of pain with too. Rang the EPU on Thurs and earliest scan they could give me was Tues because of the b/h. It has been the longest few days, and have been having some cramping over the weekend. Desperate to get to Tues, just so I know what's going on, its the not knowing that is killing me!!

Sorry for the hijack, I just wanted you to know you're not alone. Hope things work out for us both x

Hi Whenskiesareblue, not hijacking at all, I sympathise. My local EPU won't see you unless you have a docs referral so I will try and get that on tuesday. I just have this feeling that it is all over, sometimes you know when you know. What a week! Good luck for tues.

I know how you feel, I can't imagine anything else but the worst. Hopefully we are both wrong.

AFAIK you shouldn't need a Drs referral? Most EPUs will scan you if you ring them direct and say you are bleeding?? But, then, like others have said, they may not be able to see anything at 4-5 weeks, so may do more harm than good for you if they say they can't see anything. I am hopefully 7-8 weeks-ish.

Hope things turn out ok. I had this at five weeks and ongoing and all was fine. Was subchorionic hematoma which is common I believe.

Oh I'm sorry monkey. My scan only showed a 4 week sac, so have had blood tests to see if the pregnancy had stopped.

I'm glad you are feeling positive.
