38 weeks, painful braxton hicks, does it mean anything?

hi, I've been having braxton hicks on and off for the last two weeks along with labour type pains, since last night they have been pretty much regular varying between ten and five mins apart and still a bit painful, has anyone had them this regular and it not come to anything?

This is my second dc but with my first I had nothing, no tightenings at all and had to be induced by drip so I have no experience of my body 'getting ready'

Yes, I'm looking forward to at least two more weeks of waiting! I'm not optimistic that it means anything, it's just the fact that it's been so regular for the last 24 hours.

Totally, naive here... What's myn?

sorry-by myn i mean my painful braxton hicks :-) ooh if theyre getting regular perhaps its the start of labour

Oh mine! I see grin thought it was some special acronym!

No, I'm not worried but when I saw doc on Thursday she old me theyr not usually painful but I'm not sure how true that is as I've heard of a few people saying there's are painful confused

I posted a very similar thing in childbirth here

You have my sympathy, it's a right PITA all this waiting, and painful BH makes it very confusing.

MrsRhettButler Fri 19-Aug-11 22:42:28

Ahh, I didn't see that, it seems we are in the same boat, how many weeks are you?

Yes, it's so frustrating I just want them to get worse or or something to 'happen'

39 weeks and all has been quiet today. I've also had to accept the fact that it is very likely that the DSes will have birthdays within a week of one another.

All quiet here too. After 24 hours of pain every 5 minutes it's turned to nothing!

Wow bdays a week apart! Are they close enough in age to use it to your advantage? Joint parties etc...

Hope you feel better!
