Scan today and nervous as hell

I havent posted much the past few weeks as all has settled down and been really busy at work.

I have my first scan today. I am really nervous. I lost one before i had my 2 DDs with a missed abortion and the baby had died at 8 weeks (i was 14 weeks when i started bleeding).

I think i may have felt baby moving a bit. Keep thinking its a bit early though although this is number 3.

I have told my 2 DDs about the baby and they are really excited. Not told my parents yet though. Hubby is quite happy and actually talking about baby!

I was more nervous this time around with DC2 than I was with DD! Everything was thankfully fine. I remember coming out shaking with relief and thankfulness that once again it looked like we had a baby that would be OK (I had got myself thinking that because DD had been fine surely something must go wrong this time).

Its especially poignant if you have lost a baby, too, as you know that bad things really do happen. You just have to remember that chances are everything is OK.

Deep breath and best of luck.

I lost my first at 6 weeks so when I got pregnant with DS I was in pieces before my scan but he's 2yo next week. Then I got pregnant again and had a missed miscarriage at 14+3, had a tiny bleed at 15w, and a scan confirmed it at 15+3. I got pregnant again and was nervous before both 12w and 20w scans.

It's natural to feel nervous, especially when you've got first hand experience of what happens when it doesn't go to plan. Missed miscarriages are actually quite rare though, I know it doesn't seen that way reading the boards but that's because you've got a high concentration of people with similar experiences all in one place, mmc only occurs in about 2-3% of pregnancies so the chances of it happening are low. I know that's not much comfort but try not worry too much.

I hope everything is fine x
