Bruised bump?

I am 23 weeks and yesterday I started to feel like my bump was really sore quite low down; tender like a bruise. Nothing visible. I did walk for close to six miles yesterday but we often walk.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Should I be concerned or is it normal?

Thanks

Mine feels like this a lot as I have quite a small bump and a very active baby who kicks and pushes a lot. I often expect to see a visable bruise but none so far. If you are really worried go and have a quick check up. Make the most of being able to walk that far, am 34 weeks now and 1 mile is a struggle. Smile

I have this every now and then - well feels tender like a muscle strain and usually happens if I walk too much or too fast. It fades away after rest.

yep i got that a lot from about 20 weeks and now at 35 + 2 it is almost constant as he is constantly pushing his back and bottom into my skin or punching me.

I'd say this was normal, especially after a long walk.
Although you may be fit and used to walking six miles normally, as your bump gets bigger the muscles and ligaments s-t-r-e-t-c-h and are more prone to achiness like this.

It's a bit like when you walk further than normal/suddenly take up aerobics etc and get tender, bruisy, achey feeling in your calves/thighs the next day.

I felt bruised with ds2. He bounced around like my internal organs were a trampoline. It was the outside of the bump too. It got better when I was nearer to my due date as he was more wedged in. Mention it to your midwife if it would put your mind at rest.

Thanks for all the reassuring replies. Little one is rather active and bump has recently grown so I guess that explains it :)
