Pregnancy

9 Weeks and unbareable stomach cramps?!

I'm pregnant with my first child, and i'm 9+2. I haven't really a clue what to expect as my mum is very distant and the only people i can comfortably talk to is my partner and my father (both don't really have a clue either!)

Last night, i was eating my dinner, and suddenly i got the worst stomach cramps i've ever felt. They were very tight, stretchy, crampy feelings, from just under my bra, right down to my knicker line! I couldn't finish my dinner, as i couldn't sit comfortably. I tried standing, laying down, kneeling, etc, and every postition was just as bad.

Is this normal?!

Please call your midwife and ask or a nurse at the local GPs. It could be nothing, but hasn't been something I've experienced, better to put your mind at rest.

No experience but sounds like really bad wind. Have you had any spotting or bleeding? How are you now?

I had some dreadful stomach cramps sometime in the trimester had me doubled in pain, everyone else was worried, but I could tell the were stomach/ muscular related or similar, so wasn't worried myself.
Could just sort of feel that they weren't womb related if that makes sense?
It lasted around 9 hours and was fine the next day, have had no troubles since and am 29 weeks now. Concluded it was some ligaments softening and over stretching.
But.. that is just my experience get checked if you are worried, as cramping can be serious

If its unbareable goto a doctor/a&e.

Have had no spotting or bleeding. I've already had 3 scans though, because was very achey at 5/6 weeks, and doctor thought it could be eptopic, but then confirmed it isn't.

Seeing my midwife shortley so i will make sure i mention it to her. I feel fine now, it lasted about 15/20 minutes.

I wondered if i got it again, if i could take ibuprofen? I'm not sure what i'm allowed to take, my father says he's sure i can take painkillers, aslong as they don't contain asprin. (don't want to risk it though, until i'm sure!)

I think you can only take paracetamol.

I used to get really painful trapped wind, though it was later on in the pregnancy.

Yes, Rita's right, only paracetamol. Don't think you should rely on your father for advice! I recommend you get something like 'what to expect when you're expecting' (book) got lots of great advice.
