sore throat.... what can I take?

I am 26 weeks pregnant and got a sore throat?

any one have any idea what medicine I can take?

Nothing I don't think...honey and lemon drinks and paracetamol is about it!

olbas pastilles. all herbal stuff and really help (as decongestant too). try gurgling with soluble paracetamol as well.

I went to my GP with the same problem when I was about 34 weeks - I had a chesty cough too (and coughing managed to put my back out) and he told me to drink honey and lemon. Nowt else you can do I'm afraid.

Yep, same here, went to pharmacist today who said honey and lemon drinks only I'm afraid. The regular cough lozenges are ok too, but don't do much.
The things we have to put up with and suffer, eh!

Apparently a straight spoon of honey is good too.

I swear by Tyrozets but not sure if you can take them when pregnant?! Will dig mine out and have a look ....

Gargle with salt and water? (errh yuk, would prefer honey and lemon).

Boots do a Glycerin and Blackcurrant Linctus syrup which is safe in pregnancy. I had it for a nasty cough and sore throat last week and it worked a treat.
