Bleeding/spotting through pregnancy - anyone had this?

am 14 weeks pregnant an have had intermittent light bleeding on an doff through this pregnancy (between week 7-8) , at about week 11 and also on and off this week. Have told drs and been checked/scanned through pregnancy and all looks fine/can see no reason for it so think it's one of those things. Bleeding is quite light (mostly old
Blood, Tends to be quite light and no pain). The only explanation is that maybe need to take it easy (some of bleeding started after been lifting my toddler, shopping or had a busy day).

I am Going for another check on Monday but wanted to know if anyone else had this and what their coping strategies were? I am obviously worried and would get it checked out but could be long pregnancy if have to worry about this/take it easy (not so easily done when work and have a 3 year old) and keep going for checks.

Hi there. Spotting is terrifying to see, but if you've got to 14 weeks, and your doctor is saying you're OK, then it is probably just one of those things. It could be that you are spotting at around the time you would have had a period if you weren't pregnant, and that you will continue to spot every three to four weeks throughout.

I had it in my first two pgs, which ended in early MCs, but again in my two subsequent ones, which both turned out well - and I coped with the stress of it by going straight away for a scan.

In your case, as long as it's old blood, you don't need to worry - the important thing is that it's not bright red, fresh blood.

Good luck. I hope your pregnancy is otherwise uneventful, and you have a lovely bouncing baby in 26 weeks' or so time!

I had this too from 16-19 weeks. I had a NHS scan which they couldn't see anything then went to FMC and they found a small clot in my placenta. It worked it's way out and spotting has stopped.

I had this with ds and he is now 3.7!!

I bled at 7 weeks then approx every 4 weeks afterwards. There was always some bright red blood. They never did find out why even at 25 weeks when I had a hospital stay. It carried on the whole way through and I have been told since that even though it's not 'normal' it's not unseen. It can be scary though.

Hope it calms again soon for you.
