Am I behind in my baby prep?

I'm getting a bit worried now as I thought I was well ahead of myself but now seem to have fallen behind.

I have clothes for baby in hospital (need to wash them) and the pram ready.
I have Nappies, wipes etc

We have a cot but it's still in the box as we havn't started on the nursery yet.

Need to buy a moses basket and bedding

I havn't packed my hospital bag yet and still need to buy a few things for it

Am I behind or ok for just over 32 weeks?

Sounds fine to me : ) All a baby needs is its mum (and dad), somewhere to sleep and bottles etc if not breastfeeding. You don't mention a car seat for getting it home from hospital.

I remember reading once that even though we have just had a baby the shops are still open, most every day and some supermarkets that have a lot of baby stuff 24 hr so even if you forget something DH or another family member/friend would be happy to nip out and get you what you needed at short notice.

Hi Fresh01 - forgot to say we do have a car seat too! (it's a travel system so in with the pram)

Think I'm just keen to be prepared - but you are very right in the fact family can go for me should we need :)

Put the car seat in the car before you go into labour.
All you need apart from that is nappies, wipes, a couple of babygros, a massive bottle of wine, some blue cheese, some overripe unpasteurised brie, and you're away.

And some chocolate.

Sounds fine. Would recommend a crib over a Moses basket.

At least you havent gone over the top!

NewMummy...online shopping is the answer. I have had a weird couple weeks (34 weeks tomorrow) - high bp and now looking at baby possibly coming NEXT WEEK. So basically I've just gone made on amazon and ordered everything I can think of and any small bits you can pick up here and there. You'll be fine. I've bought TONS over last couple of weeks, so any sudden need to get ready and it can be done.

Online shopping is the way to go i thought i was really prepared but keep thinking of things i need (had to order my changing mats and baby towels yesterday as had forgotten all about needing those am stuck in now waiting for mamas and papas to deliver them today) i still need to get dreampods as decided i didn't like the ones i had bought and sold them but i didn't use them with my ds till he was a month old as he was under 7lbs also need another cover for my wave rocker and i think that's it but then i'm 39 + 3 weeks so you have a bit of time yet

OMG don't think you are behind at all! I am 30 weeks and all I have is about 4 vests and 2 babygrows. Though yesterday I did go to this awesome place called Babylist in London and ordered EVERYTHING (other than clothes basically), though it might take 6 weeks for some of the stuff to come (eek hopefully not too late!)

Haven't packed hospital back - was thinking around 36 weeks for that. I will do a giant Boots / Ocado order for nappies / cotton wool / all that jazz closer to the time (circa 35 weeks maybe?).

Oh, and we have to move out of our flat within the next few weeks so builders can get started.

starts to feel a little freaked out

Grumpla Grin Grin Grin

At 30 weeks I am just starting to put together a list of various bits and pieces I am going to need (have got cot, travel system and some clothes for the first couple of weeks) so I am going to add wine, cheese and chocolate to the list!

And anything we discover we are missing once DD is here, well DH can pop out to Tescos (if I can push out a baby, he can damn well navigate his way around the supermarket on his own!).

I would say order the car seat well in advance (we ordered ours when i was 27 weeks for my ds and it still hadn't arrived when i went into labour at 36 weeks luckily mamas and papas staff were helpful and gave my ex a different model they had in stock to use till ours came into stock.

Another vote for Babylist. They would have done an order for me via the phone as well Grin but I managed to see them. I only finalised that order at 32 weeks so you do have time.
