Stuffing my face to combat sickness

I am laying in bed munching Ginger biscuits hoping that I will stop feeling sick & be able to get another hours sleep. Also wearing travel sickness bands. I find that I am eating loads right now, I am 7 weeks pregnant & don't understand how something the size of a pea can need me to be eating so much but my belly is actually rumbling & I feel sick & ravenous??? Anyone else like this?

Yes I had this until about 10 weeks, it has eased off a bit now, had to be carbs for me, crisps, chips, rice I have put on half a stone and am nearly 12 weeks Shock

Yep, same here and only just stopped (I'm 18 weeks!). It was horrible - the only time I didn't feel sick was when I was eating something Sad. I dread to think how much weight I've put on but I can tell it's a lot...

Hope you feel better soon - can't really suggest anything as nothing really helped.

Yes, I'm the same. If I go longer than 2 hours without food, I feel horribly sick. But just bearably sick if i keep munching.

Nothing about pregnancy makes sense to me though!

Last time I weighed myself I had lost a kilo. Don't know how so I'm just trusting the feelings and cravings and going with them.

Same here. Haven't dared weigh myself but it can't be good. It's carb central here. Trust me not to have the sickness that responds best to sipping water Hmm

squigletts I was the same as you at 5 weeks. One week of literally eating all the time whilst awake. Then the vomiting hit and I lost it all and then some.

Even if you don't, I figure that our bodies have different needs during pregnancy. So what if you put on a lot of weight at first? It'll even out over time - 9 months is a long time, you won't gain the same amount of weight steadily during the pregnancy.

I never thought I'd see the end of feeling sick and needing to eat, but lo and behold, at 26 weeks I can go several hours without eating and I can do more sport so I'm not so worried about my weight.

I also had this and had to eat white bread rolls all day and most of the night! I am huge everywhere and was beginning to get a bit down about it but the funny thing is, people keep telling me how great I look, whereas they never said this before!!! So, maybe some of us just don't do the football-up-the-jumper neat pregnancy look but it is still OK!

I'm still like this at 14+4...... I was waiting for it all to stop magically at 12 wks but it hasn't so far. Starting to feel a lot less sick though, so my choices are healthier rather than what I "had" to have.

I'm starting to get a bit more energy back, and my hair is blooming even if I'm not!!

Another vote for crisps here, cheap tescos chicken ones ( normally a bit bland, but perfect when PG)

I had to have snacks by the side of the bed so that when I woke up in the night to wee I could have a nibble.. also ate a banana before evening touching the carpet in the morning.

I stopped for a while, but at 20 weeks I'm on a good 6 meals a day! Whilst several people commented on how much I was eating.. I didn't gain much weight during the first 12 weeks.. obviously my LO needed it!

It's amazing how somehting so small can cause soooooo much change in you, but if you consider what he's doing in these first few weeks (he'll be practically fully formed by 12 weeks) you might let him off!!!

I couild not stop eating for about the first 13 weeks - I was constantly ravenous. Thankfully now at nearly 27 weeks it has slowed right down and I dont think I've actually gained any weight apart from the bump, as what I ate at the beggining is levelling out what I can't eat know IYSWIM.

This is def me too Grin
Feeling sooo sick or starving or both!!!! DH finds it strange when I tell him I feel like I am going to throw up whilst stuffing my face with crisps! But the way I see it its better to do what your body is telling you. I am 8+5 and havent put on any weight yet despite what feels like constant hunger. Maybe its just what the peanut needs at the mo. Also anything that aviods half the day spent retching in the work loos has got to be worth it! Blush

I was exactly like this - the only kind of sickness I've ever experienced where eating actually makes it better! Only until the vomiting kicked in though, then eating was obvs not an option!

I'm 9+6 and never had any nausea with first 2 dd's but that's 10 years ago so putting it down to age. Feeling sick all day, can't stand normal food choices , carb junky now. I'm actually getting worried because my belly is protruding so much and change in symptoms thinking twins?? Age related as not in te family. Oh and as I type the stomachs growling again. I'm going to be a house end by my scan in 2 weeks at this rate?!

I had the same at 8-12 weeks! Horribly nauseous but having to eat biscuits, potatoes etc every couple of hours - so hard to explain to anyone who's never been pregnant! I was so delighted that I stopped feeling sick - now I'm 14 weeks and constantly famished! I've not gained any weight though - lost 5 kilos. Probably because I was a bit hefty in the first place!

I am rotund having been slim. It's freaking me out I can't control myself , feel sick if I'm not eating and if I carry on will be the size of a house! Daren't go near any scales.
