I have never used them before but got those 30c ones from boots today. Can anyone tell me how much you take before and/or after your c section ? I am due to have an ELCS on Monday and would appreciate advice. Thanks

I'm not sure but will be interested in the answers as I am wondering whether taking them in the week i'm due will help at all with the pain/bruising (clutching at straws emoticon)

Can you get hold of 200c ones? I went to a homeopathic shop and bought them cheaply there. The boots ones are probably not strong enough.

Take one three times a day as soon after delivery as possible, they will help.

Good luck! Rest lots now and after, get people to do everything for you for a few weeks after you get home. Take care of yourself, and your baby - everyone else is an adult who can take care of themselves.

Ooooh, never knew about these! I use the cream on my two girlies but never new you could get them tablet form and can take them for c section! This is my first c section and definitely my last pregnancy!!! So, where do I get these from them, and do the definitely help?

As much as you like. There is nothing in them.

Arnica cream does have actual arnica in it, it is possible that it has a physical effect on your body.

Homeopathic tablets have been diluted so many times that there less than a 1 in a million chance that there is a single molecule of arnica in a tablet. It is not possible for them to have a physical effect on your body.

If we are trying to maximise the placebo effect (whereby taking pills of nothing has an effect because you believe it will have an effect) it has been shown that taking two pills of nothing is more effective than one, so take two three times a day with a glass of water :)

There is no active ingredient in 30c arnica tablets. Take the whole bottle (then ask the nurse for some co-codamol, which has a measurable clinical action on people whether they are aware of it being administered or not)

What Trilllian said. Arnica tablets are a waste of money.

Gaaaaaah

200c arnica 'tablets' have been diluted 170 times more than 30c arnica 'tablets', how can you justify your belief that they are stronger?

Oooh yes if you have the option of a bit of codeine definitely go for that!

(I love codeine)

Hahahaha!! How funny's that!! Glad I read all these posts! Gullable people like me would take them religiously!! Do you think the cream would work then? Never had c section before, and to be honest, very nervous! But anything to reduce swelling and bruising has got to be worth a try right?

I don't know if the cream works, but it does at least contain some arnica.
