PREGNANT OR NOT?????

Wonder if anyone can give me some advice. My husband and I have only been trying for a baby since the beginning of May. My last period was the 20th May. Since my last period we have been having regular unprotected sex. Last Thursday (9th June) I started getting very tender, painful breasts. They have started to feel heavier and fuller too. About Saturday (11th June) of last week I had a slight stomach cramp (almost like a period but not half as bad). This lasted for about 3 days and then stopped. I took at pregnancy test on Saturday (11th June) and it came back negative :0(
Do you think I did this too early? Could I be pregnant?
Over the past few days I have been moody and tearful although this could be PMT as I am due on my period around the 20th June.

Hello there,

If you have been having regular sex since your last period than there is a high chance your going to be pregnant!!
Sore breasts are a common first sign- although it is a sign of AF too.
If you have a regular 28 day cycle then you prob havent ovulated until 4th June 14 days after your last period.
You have taken a test on the 11th which is only 7 days after ovulation MAY have occured. They say it can take anything from 4-10 days for implantation to take place.
I think its too early to show up a positive if you were pregnant.
I would wait untill your period is due, or use a first response or CB test which can detect before your period is due, the earliest i would say is 18th June (tomorrow)!!! But again it may not show until you have missed your period.
Sounds promising and i hope you get your BFP :) Good Luck xxx

I'm not as regular as clockwork so I may not have my period on the 20th June it could be 21st or 22nd or maybe 23rd. I will hold tight anyway.
Thanks for your advice.

Hi bmm39 - looks like we could be due date buddies if you get the positive you are looking for :) Hubby and I have been trying since April and got a PT this morning! AF was due yesterday (27 dc) and to hurry it up I took a test. Didn't expect a positive at all! Off to the Dr next week to confirm. I'd say that last week would have been too early to test. Even if you are pregnant you wouldn't have had a high enough hormone level to detect at that time. Wait until a day after you've missed your period, that way hormones will be easier to detect. Good luck and let us know what the result is!

Congratulations mummymcarr!! How exciting for you. My body does feel different but I am trying not to get my hopes up as I don't want to be too disappointed. I will be upset if I'm not :0(

Thank you :D very excited!
You sound exactly how I've been feeling the last week or so, so it's possible. I know its torture waiting but the time will zoom by. If you aren't this month, don't worry too much. You never know what will happen next month! In May I was convinced I was, I had all the symptoms but I had an NPT and AF visited. I was really upset about it at first but then with a cuddle from hubby I felt much better. I chilled out about it because I knew it would happen eventually, and this month we got our PT!
So if it is bad news, then just remember to relax and it'll happen :)
Good luck! Fingers crossed for you here!

Did you have the symptoms last month too? Sore breasts, mood swings etc...

I did, but the problem with early pregnancy symptoms is that they are very similar to pre-menstral symptoms. I convinced myself last month that they were indications of pregnancy (even thought I could taste a metalic taste in my mouth) so this month I just put them all down to AF and ignored them. Only reason I took the test today was to hurry AF along! I thought my body was taunting me! Now that I look back though I realise that I had a lot of lower back pain which I never get.
Pregnancy symptoms are different for everyone though - some have no symptoms at all! A friend's sister only found out when her bump appeared at about 5 months! So try not to pressurise yourself too much and don't analyse everything, in 24-48 hours you'll know for sure :)

True. Can't help it though. I do think it is strange that my breasts hurt half way through me cycle they only normally hurt about 2/3 days prior to my period. Must be a good sign.
Anyway I will find out soon enough.

Congratulations mummymccar thats wonderful news :)
Not long bmm39 and you will know!!

Its interesting that you say mummymccar about having the same symptoms then AF arrivved, as well as the metalic taste!!
Im in limbo at the minute as not sure if i am pregnant or not.
Only recently came off the pill last month but had symptoms aswell as i wouldnt say metalic taste but a different strange taste in mouth. I dont know where i am with my cycles, so dont know when period would be due. But reading this maybe AF is about to make a come back. Wish it would hurry up so i know!! xx

Thanks shellmc!
I think our bodies just like to taunt us ;)
Maybe you should wait a week or two before testing to see if AF shows up.
Good luck to both of you, I'll be thinking of you both these next two weeks - I know how tortuous the wait is :(
Love to you both

bmm39 - If your breasts are hurting half way through the cycle it is very likely that you are pregnant. That is what happened to me. My boobs became sore two weeks before my period and i really hoped that i would be pregnant - and i was. However, sometimes (very rarely though in my case) my boobs can get a bit tender earlier than normal. I also had some very light bleeding around 1 week before my period was due and thought it was odd. That was implantation bleeding. I have given birth to my twin girls 5 weeks ago. So, fingers crossed, but it sounds like you could be. My periods were also irregular every 24-26 days. I took a test on 24th day and the first one i thought came back as negative, however i could actually make out a very thin pink line, so actually it was positive you just really needed to look at the line. I did another one later that day and i could see the pregnant line much clearer. Next day all tests proved positive.

Elizabeth32 - how wonderful to have twins. Congratulations! My boobs hurt some much even when I am driving and I go over a bump in the road they kill! lol.
I havent had any other symptom though. I did think the other day that I had a metal taste in my mouth but I was probably being paranoid.

Thank you bmm39. It was a wonderful shock when i went for my 12 week scan but it's such hard work now! I've never been more exhausted in my life and have not slept for more than 2 hours ever since they were born. But of course it is worth it and they are absolutely beautiful. Anyway, fingers crossed for you. I didn't have any other symptoms either, apart from a bit of bleeding, but the sore boobs i thought was odd and read on line that its likely that i am pregnant. Metal taste came much later (probably about 2 weeks after i found out i was pregnant). It lasted for 3 months, along with terrible sickness. Let me know on the 20th after you've done the test.

Hi shellmc,
I haven't done a pregnancy test yet I am going to leave it until Saturday morning. This will give me a chance to make sure I am definately late. I am never like clockwork anyway.
Over the weekend and today I have had very slight spotting and on Sunday I had a metal taste in my mouth. At first I thought maybe my gums were bleeding but I checked and there was no sign of blood. Sunday morning I felt sick all morning but I have put that down to me not eating breakfast. I didn't have any sickness this morning.
All the signs are pointing to me being pregnant but I am trying not to get my hopes up just in case I am not.
Good luck for your GP appointment tomorrow.
