I'm 19 +4 and and sure I just felt kicking up near my ribs. Isn't it too early to feel it that far up?!

My MIL insisted it was too early at 18/19wks to get kicking up that high (infact she pointed and said you only get them 'down there'!), but I did. I was in the car so sat up. Compared to some people I am carrying quite high (my bump starts about 1.5inches below my sternum) and could feel kicks just beneath my sternum and a couple under my ribs :) ...it's all much more obvious now I am 21+2 so can say with absolute confidence that yes they were kicks and they were up that high!

Congratulations! x Grin

Had really bad pain in ribs then and later found it was the baby kicking under ribs but couldn't feel the movement. It is much better when they move lower down and annoying if the kick too low down

I thought they couldn't and babies were low down, but at my scan yesterday when she did the head it was much much higher up than I expected! So I guess if the baby is feet up then it's perfectly feasible to feel it that high!

The top of your uterus should only have grown as high as your navel by 20 weeks. Could be that the baby's kicking a nerve that's shooting up to your ribs?
