Resort hol in early pregnancy?

I found out yesterday I am pg with no 2. Prob about 2-4 weeks I think. We were planning to book a resort hol in the next few weeks, probably in Cyprus, which we were all really looking forward to. But now I'm getting a bit worrie about food poisoning, upset tummies etc. My last pg was without any complication.

Any advice? Has anyone else done a similar hol around this time? Would you? Or should we just go somewhere in UK and self cater?

I think the main thing is water always us bottle water, dont have ice in your drinks as they would of been made by the tap water. Also salads and fruit would have been washed in tap water so best to avoid them to

2-4 weeks? How is it even possible to know you're 2 week's pregnant? Confused

Cyprus is hardly DR Congo.

2 wks since I ovulated, 4 since last period. I've weed on two preg sticks and they've said I'm pg. I've forgotten how it works with the counting tbh. We've never been on a resort hol, or to Cyprus, which is why I'm a bit uncertain.

Count from your last period, so 4 weeks

Hiya,
I'd say a nice resort hols in cyprus would be lovely in early preg, relaxing in the sun, swimming etc. Lovely! We went on hols when I was 6wks preg with DC2 - only self catering to France, but it was lovely to relax & have hubby to look after DC1 when I started feeling the usual 1st trimester exhaustion & nausea. If anything, being on hols for 2 weeks made the first trimester / 12 week scan wait feel so much quicker as we were away for 2 whole weeks of the wait!

I have a friend who lives in cyprus on an army base & she was preg whilst living over there, all fine, good health care etc.

I would do as orangehead says - just drink bottled water (not because cyrpriot tap water is bad, but sometimes a change in water can upset your tummy), and follow all the usual food rules that you would follow in the UK. I'm 17wks & we're off to spain this week for 7 days - can't wait to have hubby's help looking after our 2 little ones whilst I chill in the sunshine! I posted on here a while back asking advice from preg ladies living in spain (eg any special food advice etc) which was really helpful, you could always try the same for any preg ladies living / lived in cyprus. Enjoy your hols!! xx

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'll try to work out where to post a question. It's not that I think it's going to be awful, but just wondering whether it will be as enjoyable if I'm thinking all the time about what to eat and how it's been prepared. I do like my fruit and salad... :( Not sure if a week of doughnuts is going to be the healthful experience I'm after!

Ha ha!! I could happily survive a week on doughnuts!! BUt I know what you mean. Strangely, when I went to France when preg with my 2nd, I didnt worry so much about any of the food restrictions then - I did follow all uk guidelines, but some french rules seem much stricter than here (we have french friends who when preg were told to avoid salad & fruit in restuarants in france! Which I have to admit I didnt adhere to....). In fact I had a very stress free pregnancy & didnt really worry at all. However, now preg with no.3 I am mega stressy again about food / what I can / can't eat so have done lots of research about visiting spain - I posted the question on this pregnancy forum and got several useful replies. I'm sure if you're in a resort, they will cater for all tastes & you'll hopefully find lots of stuff (healthy & treats!) you can happily eat safely whilst preg.

cyprus is very nice this time of year. i'd spend extra money on a 5 star hotel. the food is excellent and the water is safe to drink!
