Sore, achey and generally fed up

So I'm nearly 28 weeks and the last month or so (ish) I've been suffering from a pain in my left hip. It doesn't matter how I sit, if I sit longer than 20 minutes I can't get up again as I can't move my leg. At home and at work not so much of a problem, but my drive home from work is a good half hour - to get out of the car I literally have to pick my leg up with my hands and force it out of the car, then heave myself out using the door for leverage. I'm also walking like my FiL - who has MS (so I made sure they knew before we came for a visit in case he thought I was taking the piss!).

It's affecting my sleep now too - I've been prescribed solpadine (or whatever name the prescribed version has) but it gives me PHENOMENAL headaches, even if I only take it at night to help me sleep. Paracetomol doesn't even begin to touch the pain - or clear the headaches Sad

Anybody any suggestions on the hip pain, how to sleep or where to go from here? The driving not going to be much of a problem for too long as I go on leave on 27th May. Only 18 working days. Not that I'm counting...

I've no advice but can sympathise, I'm really suffering with SPd at the moment. Also have began to get migraines! It's shit and I hate it! I like you am counting down the days (only 26+2 and do want the baby to stay in there for a while longer) but it's crap!

I got my Dp to fetch me a cold wet flannel which helped to get me to sleep with the headache. Have you been referred to a physio yet? I'm going to try on my next appt (which is my second at 28 weeks Hmm)

Trina I totally sympathise with your hip pain - my left hip is so painful I'm in tears most mornings for the first half hour. I had some physio and she gave me simple exercises to strengthen the ligaments - lay on side with left hip up. Engage core muscles (very important) then do 20 leg raises. Repeat 4 times a day. It helps me so might be worth a try til you can get a physio apt?

Hi
I have hip pain too and it's rotten. When sleeping I put pillows between my legs from thigh to ankle which seems to help support te hip, I also have to turn over very frequently. Hope it eases for you soon.

Hip pain here too but not as bad as in my last pg. The difference is that this time I have a pile of duvets under me on the bed to make it softer. It is just starting to get uncomfortable now at 30 weeks whereas last time it had been unbearable for weeks by this stage. Also being really careful not to overdo things. Limit trips up and down stairs and lifting. I am still walking (dog and school run) but just take it at a nice slow steady pace rather than cracking on at speed. It's not eliminated the pain entirely but it's definitely a lot better. I suspect the last few weeks will still be awful but at least it won't be for as long.
