Bit scared - not felt baby move

I'm nearly 30 weeks. I realised last night that I couldn't remember the last time I'd felt any big movements from baby that day. Went to bed and lay down with a cold drink, but still didn't really feel anything. Woke up this morning and had a couple of shifting type movements but none of the big kicks and pokes I'm used to.

I know I need to phone mw and prob go into hospital but I'm scared. DH is still in bed so when he wakes up I'm going to have a shower and give them a ring/go in if I haven't felt anything by then.

Sorry, not point to post, just need to get it out, and some hand-holding wouldn't go amiss.

Lots of hugs.
Call and go in ASAP (you're not bothering anyone with silliness) It is very important and if IF anything is wrong it's much better to know sooner rather than later.

at 30 weeks you can call the maternity unit no? and they're there all hours... do it now and ease your mind.

Hand holding from me as well. Obviously you need to go in to reassure yourself but don't panic I remember I had days where the movements weren't as violent as normal. I think sometimes they get themselves squashed up. Chances are lo will start breakdancing when you reach the hospital carpark.

Give your maternity unit a call, let them know you're on your way - they'll have a listen to the baby's heartbeat and check you over. Much better for you and baby to go to the hospital than being stressed and scared.

Fwiw I had a similar worry at about 26 weeks, baby soon made her presence known again!

Big hugs

I had the same with dd (who was absolutely fine). Drink a big glass of cold orange juice (sugar and cold good for warking up babies) on the way to the hospital (everyone is right, go NOW, don't wait). MW who saw me said she would always rather mum's just came in rather than worrying and waiting.

Good luck, I'm sure everything is fine Smile

I had the same experience. Me and DH drove to the hospital and I was told off for not eating anything for about 15 hours.
A couple of samosas later, she was dancing as usual.
Don't wait for your DH to wake up, kick his arse out of bed.
Good luck.

Thanks all. I saw your messages, woke dh up and went in. All fine, as soon as she put the monitor on my tummy baby booted it away. Bloody typical!

oh that's fab news!!

they say getting in the bath helps movements, so if bump decides to be 'lazy' again, you could always try a spurt in the bath to wake it up!
