Anemic

Have just had results from 28weeks bloods (I am now 30wks) and have been told I am anemic so will need to take whatever iron supplement they prescribe. I was just wondering what problems anemia can cause in pregnancy and birth as I haven't had a chance to talk to the doctor about it as the message came through the receptionist at the doctors!

Thank you! Will they take my levels again to see if they have gone up? Was hoping for a hb (although currently working on dh about that one!).
