Bleeding and 8 Weeks Pregnant

I'm pregnant with my 2nd baby, 8 weeks and on Christmas Eve I started bleeding, today (xmas day) the blood is bright red and I'm having to wear a pad, so def more than spotting.

I'm sooooo upset, i dont' have cramping and hoping i don't start.......

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after having a large amount of bright red bleeding.....

I'm due for a scan in 4 days which seems like years to wait at the moment.

Hoping to hear some positive stories....

Hi Isabella I'm so sorry to hear you're experiencing this today. I had bleeds at 6wks and 9wks with Ds1 and all was fine. I hope all works out for you. If the bleeding gets worse or you get cramping then please seek medical advice. Big hug to you

Thanks for your reply clareanna, I feel like i'm in limbo, just waiting. I still haven't got cramps, but i've had a few small clots. I've got everything crossed for a healthy pregnancy x

Hi Isabella. It is terrifying to bleed at all during pregnancy, but I wanted you to know that lots of women bleed - even small clots - and do go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies.

I am 12 weeks pregnant with DC2 and had a bleed a couple of weeks ago that, fortunately, turned out to be nothing. It is horrible waiting for a scan but try to rest and stay positive.

A good friend of mine bled for a number of weeks in the first trimester - including small clots - and last night she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

As has already been said, if the bleeding gets heavier or you start cramping, do call someone. But no pain is a good 'sign'. Take care - will be thinking of you xx

thank you so much for your positive message, I'm still not experiencing cramping, which is good, but still very scared. At least the scan is not too far away now. I'm going first thing Wednesday morning and at least I will have some idea what is going on either way xx

Hope you've still managed to have a good Christmas.

Thinking of you and sending you lots of sticky vibes! X

thank you all for your wonderfully positive messages, unfortunately I miscarried.

I had the scan yesterday and another today just to check everything had cleared, which it had.

They think having flu and a high temperature at week 6 and 7 of pregnancy may have caused it, which is very sad.

xxx

So sorry to hear that Isabella. It's awful and must be even worse at this time of year. Take care of yourself.
