OK, way TMI heading your way but my shame levels have all but vanished since starting IVF at any rate Grin

Had my EC on 13th Dec and ET on 16th so on the 2WW. As of the evening of 13th I have had the joys of Cyclogest suppositories twice a day and oh, my God, I have the worse constipation known to man (well, me!) short of a teeny tiny poo today (just looked like a build up of the suppositories, told you - TMI!) and a slightly larger one on Sunday I have had nothing. I am eating a high protein, low GI diet. Lots of fruit (esp prunes!) and veg. I am taking Fybrogel twice a day and Syrup of Fig before bed. Plus drinking peppermint tea and taking Colpermin

With the exception of the first few days where I was very sore (from the procedure mainly I assume) and Sunday - where I was a split second away from calling an ambulance as my trapped wind was so bad I thought it was ovarian torsion Blush - it isn't painful, just damn, damn uncomfy - and unsightly in that my stomach is very bloated.

Oh passing wind, that smells like a small rodent crawled up there and died....Blush

Any advice?? Please....!

I've got regular pregnancy constipation....can't remember the last time I had a decent bowel movement and getting desperate! already tried upping fibre to biblical proportions to no avail. Going to try a hot strong coffee in a minute to see if that helps and to hell with the caffeine. Its miserable isn't it beibg this uncomfy?

I'm a mumsnet newbie but an IVF veteran and don't worry, it'll take waaaaaay more than that to offend me!

Cyclogest is the work of the devil :). Bloating, constipation, horrific wind and sore boobs are all lovely side effects. I tried most of the things you mentioned with little success....

The thing that worked for me were linseeds. You can buy them in tesco (and I'm sure t'other supermarkets). They look like sesame seeds and you can put them in foods or smoothies, or just take a couple of tablespoons neat each day as I did.

Other thing to try is lactulose (safe in pregnancy too, thinking positively here!)

Best of luck!! When is OTD?

I used front door :P and never had trouble.

When i used back door once i suffered terrible with wind. So if not already front way might be an option.

Good luck btw.

Im 19 weeks with my first go at ICSI :)

Does Cyclogest really do that?? I started taking it rectally at 10 weeks (pre-term labour/uterine irritability-related) and I honestly noticed no difference between that and my regular pregnancy constipation!

Maybe it's worse much early on!

Movicol is a stool softener so maybe combined with Fybogel you could get something soft moving.. heh.

Thanks ladies - switching to the front and keeping my fingers crossed!

I feel I must share...! Used the front door today and voila...service restored!

As I have given up on dignity I can say I am a little worried as there was clearly Cyclogest in the bowl but this just under two hours after popping it up there!
