Getting Signed Off Work Advice

My job is really stressful and my work load is increasing. I am now 28 weeks and want to get signed off work for stress.
I have only been in this job since July and will be on SMP. I was wondering if they would still pay me full sick pay and SMP if I am signed off?

it depends on what their policy is. With my employers I was signed off from 28 weeks with SPD and was paid full sick pay. They would start my SMP four weeks before my due date, if I was still signed off, but, I was signed off for 5 weeks, went back for a few days. Taken the rest of the time as annual leave prior to my SMP starting.

Have a word with personnel about what their policy is.
