I took this a couple of weeks ago - along with lots of other things - when I was really ill with vomiting virus. I looked it up in my pharmacology books (med student) and no evidence of harm to foetus. Me and baby are fine! If it has been prescribed for you by someone who is aware you are pregnant and you take it as advised it should be fine. The benefits may even outweigh the risks if you are being that sick you are getting dehydrated/malnourished.

HI. I am a doctor who has terrible hyperemesis when pregnant and will take any antiemetic that helps. Metoclopramide is safe for baby and hope it works for you.

Have taken metaclopramide throughout last 2 pregnancies due to Hyperemesis - DS1 is 8yo and fine, DS2 is almost 7yo and fine. I have also taken metaclopramide this pregnancy, until week 28, am now 30+1. Baby developing perfectly. Just peed off that my GP (different from the one I had with my DS's) refuses to prescribe it after 28 weeks, so am puking loads again, keeping myself hydrated with diyoralite, because my PCT only admits to hospital if ketones are +++, and if I got to that stage, I'd not be able to look after the other dc! Metaclopramide is magic stuff!

Loudlass, how well did it work for you - did it take away the nausea as well?

I used it for almost all the way through my pregnancy with DD. It made me less sick (HG) but didn't take it away completely. DD is fine!
