Antenatal Gym Classes

Hi

Just wondering if any other expecting mums out there belong to gyms which offer antenatal gym classes, eg pregnancy yoga, pilates, aqua etc? I am a member at Nuffield but they do not offer anything in this area. I asked the programme manager about it and she said that I should go to outside classes for pregnancy fitness. I think that somewhere like Nuffield (Wimbledon - where I go) could at least substitute one or two of their 18 pilates/yoga/body balance classes for pregnancy classes, especially as I see mums to be or new mums there a lot during the day. Am considering changing my gym membership if there are any gyms that do offer these services. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I'm a member of a Black Label Fitness First club in central London and pay £60 a month! I also think they should provide ante and post natal classes for that kind of money, but they don't. Its frustrating but I'm just doing my own thing there instead - swimming and gym work and paying for pregnancy yoga classes elsewhere.

Hi - I wrote to my gym to say that they should really consider adding or substituting some of their current classes for ones aimed at pregnancy. The response I got back said that there was no current demand. I find this hard to believe (there is no current demand as there are none on offer!) so I suggest writing into your gym to request them. If there is enough "demand", they actually might give us come classes that we as members want! Cheers
