Pregnancy

Can anyone advise me please?

I had a miscarriage back in June - it was a blighted ovum where the sac is empty.

My period is due on Sat/Sun but I did a pregnancy test yesterday and there was a very faint line. The reason for me testing so early was because normally, the week before my period I have brown spotting. I had this last Sunday and just thought it was AF on its way. However it only lasted a day, which I thought was really unusual and wondered if it was implantation bleeding - hence the test yesterday. This morning and for most of the day actually I have the brown spotting again, I have done another test this evening and there is a faint line again.
The reason why I am so worried is that I had brown spotting for a few weeks before my miscarriage. I'm concerned history might be repeating itself. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

I don't have any really constructve advice but I think at this early stage you just have to see what nature brings. It's hard I know but if you could wait until after your AF is due and re-test then go to see your GP if it's still positive.

Your GP may refer you for an early scan which might bring you some peace of mind but I think for now it's a waiting game. Good luck, let us know how you go. I have everything crossed for you. x

You can't really be scanned until you're 6 weeks gone and many GPs will just send you away to wait and see before then, especially before your Af is even due.

If your AF is definitely late and you're still testing positive, go see your GP. If you're still spotting they may give you HCG blood tests to check your levels are going up okay.

Thank you. I guess I just have to be patient and hang on in there with my fingers crossed.

Thanks again

Sending my sympathy, I have been in exactly your situation. In Jan 2009 I had a blighted ovum MC at 10wks. Then in Jan this year I tested positive days before my AF was due and was spotting. I think the spotting started as implantation bleeding at about 1 wk past ovulation, but I continued to spot until over 6 wks pregnant. That same baby is now kicking me in the ribs and due next week.

The hardest thing about those early days was the waiting, not knowing what is going to happen, but that's really all you can do. I literally counted down the days until I could go for a scan to check the heartbeat. If the spotting continues, you can try to get a scan through your local EPU from about 6 wks. Try to find ways to distract yourself and I hope it all works out for you this time.

Aw thanks 2ndDestiny, you have just given me a bit of hope. Yes, that's me in a nutshell. I want to be really excited about being pregnant but I can't afford to get my hopes up again. I am so glad everything worked out for you, bet you are sooo excited about meeting your little one. I already have a 4 year old daughter, so at the end of the day I am blessed.

Best of luck to you xx

Just a quick update. This morning I had black tar-like CM coming out of me so went to EPU. They did a scan but couldn't see anything at all (I'm only 4 and a half weeks). They took my bloods and I have to go back on Fri for a repeat test.

Has anyone else had this black tar problem? I'm so worried I can hardly concentrate on anything else.
