Hi think the thread title is pretty self explanatory! Ds just got chicken pox, I'm 16 weeks pg and had it when I was little. MHD choices says I should contact gp? Any need to? Any advice gratefully received ...

If you have had it yourself then no need to worry. If you haven't had it the you need to contact your GP or Midwife asap.

Because Chickenpox is nasty in pregnancy and they may offer you treatment if you are at risk.

Contact the midwife. There is a blood test they can give you to confirm immunity.

When I was about 16 weeks pregnant with DD (now 8 months) a friends DC got chicken pox and I contacted the MW for advice. As I had had CP twice a child, there was a worry that my immunity might be a bit low so I had the blood test done. All came back fine and I could stop worrying.
