Hi everyone i'm 14 week's and today i just feel so down, i have no reason to feel this way.

I would of been happy to just stay in bed today but had to get up for my other 2dc.

I just can't seam to snap out of it

Hi Katy, hope feeling down turns out to be just a temporary thing for you, if it's been going on a while though or does then worth a mention to midwife or GP definately.

Due to my circumstances (have 2 children with disabilities) i know it'd be easy for me to feel down so i always try and make sure i have one or two things a month to look forward to.

I also find just getting out into the fresh air and sometimes forcing myself to mix with other people can help. I guess what helps me most is activity, just doing something/anything can help distract me out of it. It's a kind of take the body and do something and eventually the mind will follow therapy. I studied counselling and psychotherapy a while back and learning about depression and just feeling down/ low was really interesting and helpful. I find the worst thing i can do when i'm feeling down is to do nothing but everyone finds their own way of dealing best with it at the end of the day i guess.

Hope you're feeling a bit more yourself soon (and definately talk to someone if you don't), take care x

Thank you, i suffered from deppression last year when my dad died and im a little worried it might be comming back but it has only been today and the weather is rubbish, dh working and kids just constantly making a mess is all a bit much today.

I'm hoping it may be just the hormones as i have been really good up untill today.

i agree when you if i do nothing it does not help,i just eish the weather would cheer up abit so we could atleast go for a walk.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Sad

Hope its just your hormones causing a temporary flux and not depression comming back (i have a close friend who suffers badly with depression and it's awful).

Oh i know how kids constantly making a mess can make you feel too, got all 5 of mine home as its the hols. Mind you some of mine are of the age where i can tell them to get busy with the hoover now and again themselves (some advantages of them getting older Smile)

I sometimes make myself something nice to eat when i'm a bit down and can't leave the house, a bit of comfort food always gives me a temporary lift Blush

Hope the weather cheers up though, most things seem a bit better with a bit of sunshine don't they. Fingers crossed x

I have thought of hiring them out on occasion and making a bit of profit from them lol, PC brigade would probably lock me up though haha.
My 6 year old is fab at weeding, my 11 year old great at hoovering and baking (don't know where she gets that from, certainly not me i'm hopeless at baking), my 8 year old loves washing up and my 2 year old, well she just loves making puddles of juice everywhere and demanding to watch Humph (have to work on that last child a bit more obviously lol).

Making plans for tomorrow sounds like a good idea, we're of to a garden center and visiting relatives, exciting i know Blushbut at least it gets the little mess makers out of the house for a while Smile

Oh and you've made me want some chocolate now btw !

Hope you manage to have a nice weekend, take care x

Oh if your eldest can make tea that would be perfect lol i cant wait till mine can do that ha ha. I'm going to need some pointers to how to get my kids hoovering and baking.

yes getting the little mess makers out is a brilliant idea, right now they are near enough breaking the wii getting it to work.

sorry about the chocolate.

thank you hope you have a lovely weekend top.

I have found that good old bribery works a treat Grin

As in 'if you lot want us all to get out of the house today then you'd all better get busy giving me a hand so we can come home and all i have to do is make you all dinner while you play'

I'm not sure super nanny would approve Blush but works a charm for me !

My 11 year old can indeed make tea, and bless her she makes lovely scrambled eggs on toast too. I tell her i'm both equipping her for independance and preventing her from getting bored lol which theres some truth to ofcourse. I'm not a total slave driver though, if she bakes cakes then i at least let her have some haha

Right i'd best dash for today, i'm being called upon to join in a game of mario cart wii...they always want me to take part in that because i always come 12th, last Blush which they all seem to find strangely amusing ! little horrors

Hope you've rescued the wii Smile

You are so lucky i was my kids to make tea oh that would be fab.

My kids used to do the same but now i kick there but at mario they dont ask me to play anymore ha ha.

Hi there XKatyX,

I just want to say hello, and that I hope the cup of tea and chocolate helped just a little bit.

I don't think pregnancy is all fluffy roses, it is strangely lonely sometimes. Keep in touch with Mumsnet - lots of experiences/opinions/support/good jokes on here.
