My DD 2.9 is having her second go at potty training. First attempt went ok, on the actual potty, but then she was poorly and we regressed

So, this time i am trying her straight on the toilet, as she is fascinated by it. I have got her some training pants, and am going for the in at the deep end method

Since yesterday, despite putting her on the toilet every 10mins or so (at her request) she has only had one wee. When she had her potty last time, she would simply realise she had to go. I am not so sure she is doing that for the toilet.

So how often should i be reminding her? Everytime i ask if she needs a wee she says yes, as she loves sitting on the toilet(not complaining lol!) But, i want her to realise that she needs to do something while she is there IYSWIM. Was thinking of every 20mins but not really sure?

20 minutes sounds about right to me

thanks pippel. She keeps pulling at her training pants and then i think that she needs to go, where as in reality she is just adjusting them lol!

is it pull ups you are using?
Ive found that they confuse children and they just use them as a nappy, at work we discourage the parents using them and say its better to use one or the other

she was in the fabric training pants, but just had a wee on the floor She is now sitting on a towell watching MR Tumble in just her t-shirt

Have decided to go go back to potty, as it is much easier for her to use herself, and she previously would just jump up, say she needed a wee and go and sit on the potty.

Have got some pull ups, mainly for going out and about (though trying to stay in so she can just run about naked). Would you recommend pull ups for daytime nap?

I always used them for naps and long journeys in the car when I knew I wasnt going to be able to stop quickly so it didnt matter so much if she had an accident apart from that it was knickers

I moved dd1 on to the toilet quiet quickly but I live in a flat so its not far to go, if you have to go up stairs I would just encourage her to use the toilet if you are near it then try again in a few weeks
