ds1 is 3 end of the month and have today started training. I know he is ready as been in pull ups and will always use potty when not got pull ups on and can hold it and even wee on demand. This morning started off well. did wee and poo in potty without me telling him, also made a sticker chart which hes proud off plus loving his 'big boy pants' anyway as the day has gone on he did all his wees in his pants. he'd then not sit on the potty even afterwards. Went through 6 pairs of pants. He even wee'd on his beloved trampoline. He then would look at me smile and wee his pants so clearly knows he is doing wrong.

tomorrow he is at preschool and packing plenty of shorts and pants. Am i doing something wrong? Why is he deliberatley weeing everywhere??

you're expecting too much too soon!

for comparison, I spent day 1 (and 2 and 3) of PT getting my toddler to sit on the potty without yelling. One week later she was trained (to the point where I could get her to sit on the potty and wee in return for a treat) then regularly put her on the potty to ensure she didn't wee elsewhere.

It is a positive exercise (ie, you want him to use the potty the negative side (not peeing elsewhere) comes with time after this)- your little boy sounds like he is doing really well to have understood enough to pee and poo on the potty on the first day. Now you just need to get him to do it all the time!

Incidentally, I'd have tried to have him to yourself for a solid block of time, though if the preschool is good hopefully they can ensure he is regularly encouraged to take to the PO?

I have to say I found PT stressful and every day i thought I was doing terribly until the very moment she got it. You will win in the end!!!Everybody does - and it feels just great when they come to show you how clever they have been.
