We've had a successful few days using the potty and big toilet this week but today my toddler has just said "I'm not ready yet" after sitting on it for a few seconds then stands up. She's only peed once in the potty then had an accident this evening while having a tantrum 😬(about something else!)

Are we going backwards or do you think she's genuinely not felt ready to pee yet? She did a 💩 no bother in the potty. We've been asking her to try the potty every so often so wondering if I'm just asking too much?

It was her birthday yesterday and we did pop nappy pants on her just in case she was too excited and had an accident but that only happened once and she did use the loo a few times. Just worried I've caused issues today.

Any thoughts please? Thanks Smile

Keep going. Sometimes the 3rd/4th day they go backwards again before something clicks. If she's 3 she is definitely ready IMO (assuming no other issues). Note her pattern how often she can hold it, then take her every 2/3 hours (a good tip is not to ask - answer is often no - but just say time to go to the toilet).
Remember all you are doing is teaching her where to put her wee and Poo, she can do it Smile
Normal to have an accident during tantrum btw.

Thank you so much for your reply! I feel a lot better about it. She did do a pee in the loo before bed so I was happier about that. I think I'll change how I word it as you said and not ask but say its time for the toilet!

Thank you x

@FiloFaxx yay great news. It's definitely a relief and parenting highlight having no more nappies Grin
