Hey guys! So my little boy is potty trained and has been for months now. He's 3. All of a sudden he's started to not want to poo on the toilet. he just says he doesn't need one even though he will be trumping and holding his bum as soon as I sit him there he will cry and say he dosent need one. I ve tried to sit there and read him a book, gold his hand, take a toy in ( not hygienic but I'm at a loss) he can hold it in for days. I went to check on him before I got into bed tonight and he's pooed in his sleep! Has anyone els been through the same? can anyone give me any advice? Thank you

If he’s holding it for days he’s probably constipated so it’s hurting him to go, so he doesn’t want to and thus viscious circle. Ask the pharmacist for something. If that doesn’t help then GP.
Also you don’t have a new baby do you? That can sometimes cause potty upsets but from what you’ve described it sounds more medical than behavioural.

@meandmytwoxx - we had issues with my son holding it in / being in pain. We were given lactulose by the docs. He has a small amount every day and it works a treat. It's been months now but never have any issues.

I hope you get it sorted, poor love x
