Potty trained but accidents with one person

My son is now 29 months, he has been potty trained since about 25 months old. He’s doing great, the odd little accident but nothing much! Except when he is with hubbys cousin (who is DS’s) godmother. He gets on great with her and loves spending time with her Smile but I’ve noticed that every time he’s with her he has accidents, he won’t tell her when he needs the loo. A few weeks ago she was minding him at our house, when I arrived back he’d had four accidents. We haven’t had an accident at home since we started potty training! Hmm has anyone any advice? He’s fine when left with grandparents, my friend etc. I’m wondering does he maybe see her as more of a friend than an adult if that makes sense? I’ve tried talking to him and asking why he doesn’t tell her but nothing!! Any tips welcome!!

Hi There clarnic1,

That sounds tough - sadly we've no failsafe methods for making potty training 100% but we wanted to jump on and give your thread a bump.

We're sure some of our users will be along soon to offer you some words of wisdom.

Do you still ask him does he go at home?

I would ask her how she responds . Ask her to change him no fuss . Not discuss and move on.

Offer rewards to dc for staying dry when .... looks after him.

@Starlight456 we don’t ask him much at home anymore, he just comes and asks for help to go! It’s frustrating when he’s done so well but I know if I get her to mind him there will be accidentally Confused

He mustn't feel comfortable asking her.

Could she maybe come to your house and when he asks you for help, she takes him, so he knows she can?

Can he go himself if you get a little step to the loo at her house ?
