3 yr old soiling herself

Hi my daughter just turned 3 and she potty trained about 2 months ago. It took her a couple of weeks to master pooing in the toilet or potty but finally managed it. She would soil herself several times a day but eventually realised that it was better to go on potty or toilet. This past week however she's regressed. So far today she has done it 5 times. All smallish pooes but she'll just stand there and do it in her underwear. What can I do? She's started doing it at playgroup too and she starts nursery in January. She's not constipated and it's not a fact of not getting to toilet in time as she sometimes even goes to stand next to the toilet to do it. I'm at my wit's end with it. Shes going through at least 6 or 7 pairs of underwear a day. I've actually put a pull up on her as we're going out to meet family for a Xmas meal and cannot trust her to tell me when she needs to go. It's the first time in months she's worn one.

Hi Lyssie sounds like you have had the same thing as my son. When my son was younger he used to do this, i would have potty trained him and then after a few months he did the exact same thing. It may be regression which is very common especially if there has been a change in their life (new sibbling, moving house, marriage or divorce). We tried to re train but he wasn’t having any of it, we eventually just put him back in nappies and thought he would be ready when he’s ready. If you’re daughter doesn’t like nappies try them and it will give her an incentive, because you know and she knows she can do it. Hope this helps Chloe x

Could it be leakage from holding it in? Google encopresis, my dd has this.

Forgot to add, it’s worth taking him to the dr’s to make sure he doesn’t have a UTI or anything before you deal with it.
