Naming baby after an ‘old/ex’ friend? Weird?

Baby girl no. 2 due 01.02.18.
Now myself and husband CANNOT decide on a name Hmm!! Our other daughters name (Elodie) was chosen a few days after we found out we were having a girl. We just can’t seem to find a name that is on par.. I like hippy/floral/whimisical names but my husband is saying no to nearly everything Sad

One of the only names we both like is Imogen. However, I was close friends with an Imogen up until about 6/7 years ago? I still have her as a ‘friend’ on FB and Instagram and I would definitely say hello, how are you etc if I saw her in the street but our lives are just different and our friendship groups grew apart. I am however still friends with other people who know her.. question is, would it seem to weird to name our daughter that now? Honestly?

Only other names we sort of agree on are:

Elodie & Indie (I love but too similar?)
Elodie & Arielle
Elodie & Amber (Is this name ‘too common now? No offence to anyone)

Any help or suggestions fully welcome! I am not a very organised person but I just really want to find a name to think about in my head and referring to her amongst ourselves Star

Thanks in advance! X

I don't think it is 'weird' to choose a name that also happened to be that of an old friend. However if are thinking that now, then will you carry on feeling uncomfortable with it?

Isobel would be my suggestion.

I like the name Isobel but have close family member of that name but different spelling!

I do actually like Indie perhaps even more but am unsure if it sounds too similar! Husband hates India or Indigo so can’t lengthen it either Confused

Imogen Indie or Indie Imogen sound nice together though..! Hmm it’s a tough one.. I like to think I wouldn’t feel awkwRd about it but I do already feel like friends especially would be like ‘oh right.. have you spoken to ‘imogen’ recently..’ however we did call her Imi as a nickname not her full name Hmm xx

Well she's not an ex friend, just someone you've lost touch with (or would have done in pre-FB days.
So no negative associations like the same name as a bully from your childhood.
My dc2 has the same name of two ex-bosses. Ex-boss 2 said it was a great choice.
